Conflicts and How They Fix Them

In the book Gender Blender by: Blake Nelson Emma Baker and Tom Witherspoon hit heads very hard and switch bodies. They think it’s from this little arrowhead Tom found in the woods. Emma researches it and comes up that they need to switch back before five days by being nice to each other. Whenever they try to reverse themselves  back to normal something gets in their way.

At a friend’s birthday party they start playing Seven Minutes in Heaven. There they jump in the closet and start to say what they learned about each other. Soon the kids switched back into their original bodies.

The Hard Life

Author's Note: I wrote about this story because I really enjoyed the way the author portrayed White Fang. London showed readers how the main character learned to become strong and survive from his owners.

In the book White Fang, by Jack London, the main character, White Fang was a lone wolf who found a tribe of Indians. While there, he was taught how to be a real wolf through hard pain and suffering.  Lastly, White Fang was saved by a man and was trained to love again and be around people. The book shows how White Fang pushed through his hard life and was rewarded in the end.

A Night To Remember

Author's Note: I wrote this because I enjoy teepeeing and ding dong ditching. Look for the voice in my story.

RING, there was the bell for the end of school. As kids ran through the hallway screaming with joy that the long day was over. That was the night we were going to use the whole stash and go all out. We were waiting for this night for four months. Aidan, Charlie, Matt, and me were going to teepee the night before Homecoming. It was going to be a gutsy task but we were up for the challenge.

When our parents finally went to bed that’s when the fun was going to start. We all met up at Aidan’s house at 12:30 A.M. and that’s when we were off. The walk was at least a mile away so we had to stealthy and quick. Car! ,said Charlie. As we jumped to the bushes the car went right passed us. Running through backyards trying not to trigger the motion sensor lights we got to the house.

Aidan opened the bags and said, Lets go. In the bags we had 92 rolls of toilet paper. With the first throw it was a perfect one. After we covered the trees with toilet paper Matt pulled out the 250 plastic forks and started to stick them in the ground everywhere. While Matt and I were forking the ground Charlie was getting rocks and spelling out “HC12”. Aidan had a couple of rolls left so he wanted to touch up the teepeeing job. After every tree was covered and all the forks were gone there was only one last thing to do, that was put all the patio furniture in the back and switch it and put it in the front. As soon as we got all the furniture in the front that was the time we needed to leave.

On the way home we took a little different rout which wasn’t the smartest idea. We walked through a backyard and they had some sort of motion sensor flashing system. When we walked past it a burst of bright light flashed and stunned us. All of us got on our horse and sprinted as far away as we could. Right after that we walked through another yard which had another motion light. After that it was an easy walk home. When we were 6 houses from my house we see the lights of a car but there was no bushes. All we could do was lie in the grass. When the car drove by we noticed that the car was really a cop. It didn’t even slow down to talk to us. He didn’t even notice us. That’s all we had left for that night and had to go to bed because everyone was so exhausted.

Walking back through the back door was a very frightening moment because I had it in my mind that my parents were waiting for me to yell at me. I walked up the stairs to see my parents sleeping tight in their bed. This time I was safe. That night was the most exciting time of my life. Aidan, Charlie, Matt, and me are already growing the stock of the toilet paper for the summer so we can get teepee more people and have more memorable and exciting times.

The Cause and Effect in White Fang

Author's Note: I really liked how the Indians in "White Fang" helped the wolf. You would have to look beyond all the torture and pain the wolf went threw to see how he became the great wolf dog he was.

In the book “White Fang” by Jack London White Fang was going through some major conflicts in his life. He was banded when he was just a young pup. White Fang went to go try to find a new home but didn’t work out the way he planned. While hunting a rabbit he runs into a tribe of Indians. He tries to run away but he can’t help his curiosity to try to find a new home. One Indian takes him in but everyone else in the tribe including the dogs didn’t want him.

If everyone in White Fang’s life that hurt him or made fun of him he wouldn’t be as furious, strong, and smart as he could. The book made the Indians look like bad people but they really turned him into a great wolf. His mom or family wasn’t there to teach him the Indians were the ones to do that.

Ding Dong Ditching Gone Wrong

Authors Note: I wrote about the time me and my friends went ding dong ditching and got caught by the cops. This happened recently so it was a good topic to write about. I believe I did a good job on the dialog.

On that perfect summer day we had a feeling that it was going to be a grand day. When dusk fell that’s when we were going to strike. Me Alec Jackson and Matt got in all black and we were off. Starting in Steeple Chase we got a decent amount of houses but the real houses were going to be in Deer Haven. As we walked across the street into Deer Haven lights appeared in the distant. We jumped to the side of the rode and dove into the bushes and let the car drive by us.

“Go up and get that house” whispered Jackson. “No it’s Matt’s turn” said Alec. “Fine I’ll get it”. As Matts running up the drive way we positioned ourselves in the trees so we can’t be spotted . Sprinted and almost falling we see matt coming down the driveway and slide into the trees like he would slide into home plate. “Where are you guys”! said the man. “Go home I’m calling the cops”. We waited there until the guy walked back inside and as soon as he did we took off.

“That was a good one” laughed Nick. “Yeah I know right we need to get him more often” said Jackson. “Let’s go get the Cottrell’s” said Alec. As we walked up the hill to Carson’s all of a sudden we hear the cops wring their siren and shine the bright light on us. The cop got out of the car and asked us if we have been ding dong ditching anyone we told the cop the truth and said we did ding dong ditch some people. He asked us to get in the car so he could take us home. As we all piled in the car he was telling us how he used to ding dong ditch too.

As we pulled up to the Kunnert’s driveway he asked us to go get the parent that lives here so Jackson went inside and brought his mom out and the cop told her to not have us go out again tonight. When we got inside everyone had a sigh of relieve to know that we didn’t get in as much trouble as we thought we were going to get in. Today we still go ding dong ditching but now we don’t get the guy that calls the cops.

My Favorite Sport

Author’s Note:  I wrote about sports because my favorite activity is basketball

My favorite sport is basketball. Basketball is a great sport because it gives you a lot of exercise. Basketball gives you agility, speed, and hand-eye coordination.  One day I hope to be drafted to the NBA. My favorite player in the NBA is Kevin Durant. He plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder and plays the forward position. He is 6 foot 9 and went to Texas University. Before he played for the Thunder he played the the Seattle Sonics. When I go to my friends we play basketball and have one on one tournaments. I hope I can always be part of basketball my whole life.

What Avenger I Am

Author’s Note: I wrote about the Avengers because I like the movie

If I could be any Avenger super hero I would choose to be Hawk Eye. I think that the assassins are the best because they are secret and sneaky so they do not get in many fights. His main weapon is the bow and arrow. I think that is really cool because I love to hunt and use a bow. My best fit of an Avenger would be Hawk Eye.
