Ding Dong Ditching Gone Wrong

Authors Note: I wrote about the time me and my friends went ding dong ditching and got caught by the cops. This happened recently so it was a good topic to write about. I believe I did a good job on the dialog.

On that perfect summer day we had a feeling that it was going to be a grand day. When dusk fell that’s when we were going to strike. Me Alec Jackson and Matt got in all black and we were off. Starting in Steeple Chase we got a decent amount of houses but the real houses were going to be in Deer Haven. As we walked across the street into Deer Haven lights appeared in the distant. We jumped to the side of the rode and dove into the bushes and let the car drive by us.

“Go up and get that house” whispered Jackson. “No it’s Matt’s turn” said Alec. “Fine I’ll get it”. As Matts running up the drive way we positioned ourselves in the trees so we can’t be spotted . Sprinted and almost falling we see matt coming down the driveway and slide into the trees like he would slide into home plate. “Where are you guys”! said the man. “Go home I’m calling the cops”. We waited there until the guy walked back inside and as soon as he did we took off.

“That was a good one” laughed Nick. “Yeah I know right we need to get him more often” said Jackson. “Let’s go get the Cottrell’s” said Alec. As we walked up the hill to Carson’s all of a sudden we hear the cops wring their siren and shine the bright light on us. The cop got out of the car and asked us if we have been ding dong ditching anyone we told the cop the truth and said we did ding dong ditch some people. He asked us to get in the car so he could take us home. As we all piled in the car he was telling us how he used to ding dong ditch too.

As we pulled up to the Kunnert’s driveway he asked us to go get the parent that lives here so Jackson went inside and brought his mom out and the cop told her to not have us go out again tonight. When we got inside everyone had a sigh of relieve to know that we didn’t get in as much trouble as we thought we were going to get in. Today we still go ding dong ditching but now we don’t get the guy that calls the cops.
